Anne Hathaway Responses To Catwoman Suit Criticism
Source: Comic Book Movie, MTV
Do you remember exactly how you felt, the moment you laid eyes on the recently released picture of Anne Hathaway dressed as Catwoman straddling atop the Batpod? The pic was met with a lot of mixed reactions to say the least, most of them highly critical of the Catwoman suit all together. As Hathaway looks to portray one of the more famous villains in the Batman saga, indeed the pressure is on to deliver in Christopher Nolan's upcoming epic The Dark Knight Rises. Hathaway, having seen or read some of those reactions spoke with MTV and responded to some of those mixed reactions. Here's an from MTV's article:
"I was not going to admit it: I asked someone to send me a few reactions [to the photo]," she said. "And I happen to know that MTV's reaction was 'meh.' "
Now, we're not sure about the "meh" quote, but we will admit to using the phrases "cautiously optimistic," "unflattering" and "underwhelming" in our analysis.
Regardless, Hathaway said that no matter the first impressions, there is a lot more happening with that suit.
"What I am happy to say is, if you didn't like the photo, you only see about a 10th of what that suit can do," she promised. "And if you did like the photo, you have excellent taste."
Excellent taste huh? Either way the comparisons to that of Michelle Pfeiffer (who portrayed Catwoman in Batman Returns) will undoubtedly still continue no matter what the final outcome of the suit is so I guess it's a losing battle for Anne either way. But of course that wont stop people from flocking to the theater as fans are already anticipating that The Dark Knight Rises will over take Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows: Part 2 and have the single greatest opening weekend in box office history.
While we wait for that, we can tell you that the Christopher Nolan directed film will star Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway of course, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard, Juno Temple, Josh Pence, Daniel Sunjata, Nestor Carbonell, Matthew Modine, Tom Conti, Joey King, Brett Cullen, Chris Ellis, Josh Stewart and Christopher Judge.
The film will make it's way into theaters on July 20th, 2012.
