The final Harry Potter film continues to break records as Warner Bros. Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows: Part 2 now passes The Lord of the Rings: The Return of The King to become the third-highest-grossing film of all time at the worldwide box office. According to THR, the eighth and final film in the highly successful franchise has now earned $1.14 billion globally, including $343.1M domestically and $792.4M internationally.

Return of the King, which was released back in 2003, grossed $1.12 billion worldwide ($377M at the domestic box office and $791.1M overseas). Can Deathly Hallows Part 2 make a run at the second place? It's unlikely as James Cameron sits comfortably in that spot with Titanic which grossed $1.8 billion during it's theatrical run. Oh yeah, as for No.1, Cameron holds that record as well with Avatar which went on to gross $2.8 billion at the box office worldwide.

Deathly Hallows Part 2 isn't done making it's money just yet. Overseas the film grossed $63.1M over the weekend to top the box office for a fourth consecutive weekend. That $63.1M included a $26.5M opening in China which is the highest bow ever for a Warner Brother's film. Domestically the film grossed $12.4M this past weekend.
