David Slade on the NEW Daredevil, Wolverine? Deadpool?

David Slade via his twitter page @DAVID_A_SLADE commented on the rumors regarding his take on the new Daredevil Reboot and here's what he had to say:

"So without breaking confidentiality, yes Daredevil, we have a great outline for a very strong character driven take on Mr Matt Murdock. It will bare NO relation to the previous Daredevil movie IN ANY WAY. We are at early planning stages and have not yet discussed any cast."

He then commented on the rumors that he may direct the aforementioned Deadpool movie as well as the new Wolverine movie now that Darren Aronosky has jumped ship:

"Love DEADPOOL, was never engaged in the (quite fantastic) script, last I heard studio was looking at comedy directors. None of my business."

"WOLVERINE, there have been no discussions about this project to date. Interesting to see what will happen with that as the again excellent script by Chris McQuarrie was set largely in Japan."

I'll start off first by saying that I'm not a fan of reboots especially reboots of movie less than 10 years old as is the case with Daredevil. The one thing I do like about reboots is that they all carry instant potential and gives us hope that now a good film can actually be made. Daredevil was a disaster of epic proportions so I think in this case any reboot even if it's bad will end up being better than the previous film.

As for Deadpool and Wolverine I'm interested to see if a Deadpool movie even gets made given Ryan Reynolds constant work schedule and his upcoming take on superhero Green Lantern. While the search continues for the a new director for Wolverine, as long as the movie is an improvement on that last installment I see good things in that movies future as well.

Here's hoping!
